Account

The Account page shows your plan, what the account has in use against the plan's limits, this month's usage and the plan's rates, and holds your own sign-in settings.

What this page is for#

The Account page (/account) answers two questions: what the account's plan allows and how much of it is in use, and how you yourself sign in. The top half is the same for everyone in the account; the bottom half is your own two-factor sign-in, sessions and connected logins. Changing your password is on a page of its own, /account/change-password, reached from Password in the menu.

Who can see it#

Every signed-in user. Everyone sees the plan and usage; only an administrator sees the buttons that change the plan. The sign-in settings are always the signed-in person's own.

What is on the page#

The plan line#

The first panel names the plan, for example "Pro plan", followed by how the account's namespaces' records are kept (chain, seal or worm) and the date the account was created. "(with overrides)" appears when one or more of the account's limits differ from the plan's; the numbers on the page are the ones in force.

Below it is the plan action. An administrator on Free sees Upgrade to Pro or Team, an administrator with a paid subscription sees Manage billing, and otherwise an administrator sees See plans. A limited user sees "To change the plan, ask an administrator of your account." If a payment is outstanding, a sentence here says so.

In use#

The In use panel counts what the account has against the plan's limits:

Item What it counts
Namespaces Active namespaces, "of" the plan's limit
State The measured size of the namespaces' state, "of" the total allowance, with the per-namespace limit in brackets
API keys Active keys only; revoked keys are kept as a record and do not count
Users Active users only; deactivated users are kept and do not occupy a seat

The state size is measured on namespaces that have had traffic recently. If some namespaces have not been measured, the line says how many were, and no sample yet means none has been. A namespace that has reached its size limit is named in red: "writes that grow it are refused". Reads, exports and deletions are still accepted.

This month#

The This month panel shows the requests, the writes and the data out since the start of the calendar month in UTC. They are usage totals. The plan's limits are rates that refill continuously, so nothing here runs out on a date. A write is a request that applied declarations. One request can both read and write, so the writes are counted within the request total. rolled up says how old the figures are; a new account shows not yet computed until the first figures are ready.

Rate#

The Rate panel states the plan's rates in words. Each of requests, writes and data out is given as a burst and a sustained daily pace, in the form "N requests a minute in bursts; about M a day sustained", and the line ends by saying how long a request over a limit waits before it gets a 429 with Retry-After. Hover over the line for the other limits in force: the requests allowed in one second, the maximum request size and the largest single answer.

Your sign-in#

Below the account panels are your own controls: Sign out of other sessions, the Two-factor sign-in panel with its state (on or off), and Connected accounts, which lists the external sign-in providers connected to your account and offers to connect the others the deployment supports. The connected-accounts panel is absent when the deployment has no external providers.

Actions#

Turn on two-factor sign-in#

In Two-factor sign-in, press Turn on. The portal emails a code and opens Turn on two-factor sign-in (/account/two-factor/enrol). Email me a code sends another. Type the Code and press Turn on two-factor. The page then shows ten recovery codes under "Save these now — each works once and they are the way in if your mail does not arrive." They are shown only this once. If the deployment cannot send email, the panel says "This deployment cannot send sign-in codes yet." and two-factor sign-in cannot be turned on.

When an administrator requires two-factor sign-in for the workspace, the portal sends you to the enrolment page with "Your workspace requires two-factor sign-in. Set it up to continue."

Make new recovery codes#

Press New recovery codes. The page asks "Make ten new recovery codes? The codes you have now stop working, and the new ones are shown once." Confirm with Make new codes and save the new codes.

Forget this browser#

If you ticked Remember this browser for 30 days when you signed in, Forget this browser makes this browser ask for a code again. It asks "Forget this browser? The next sign-in here asks for a code again." Changing your password makes every browser ask again.

Turn off two-factor sign-in#

Type Your password (or, for an account without a password, A code from your email) and press Turn off.

Sign out of other sessions#

Press Sign out of other sessions. The page asks "Sign out of every other session? This one stays signed in; the others have to sign in again." Confirm to end every other session.

Connect or disconnect a provider#

Press Connect followed by the provider's name, and sign in with the provider. The page then says "That sign-in method is connected. You can use it from now on." A provider account already connected to another account here is refused. Disconnect asks "Disconnect provider? You can no longer sign in with it until you connect it again." If a provider is the only way into your account, it cannot be disconnected; the page links to Set a password first.

Change your password#

Password in the menu opens Change your password. Type your Current password, a New password and New password again, and press Change password. Changing the password signs you out of every other browser.
