What this page is for#
TERSL/DB has four plans: Free, Pro, Team and Enterprise. The pricing page (/pricing) shows them side by side and is where you choose one. The billing pages (/billing and the pages under it) take payment, show the account's subscription and open Stripe's customer portal for the card, invoices and cancellation. The enterprise page (/enterprise) sends an inquiry. This page also describes what happens when a payment fails. Prices change from time to time, so they are not repeated here; the portal's pricing page, /pricing, always shows the current ones.
Who can see it#
The pricing page and the enterprise page are open to anyone, signed in or not. The billing pages are for administrators. A limited user sees the pricing page with "Ask an administrator of your account to change the plan." in place of the buy buttons.
What is on the page#
The pricing page#
A toggle at the top switches between Monthly and Annual · save 20% prices. Each plan is a card with its name, a one-line description, its price (a monthly or yearly amount, "$0" for Free, or "Let's talk" for Enterprise) and a list of what it includes. Under each card is the action that applies to you:
| Who you are | Free | Pro and Team | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|
| Not signed in | Sign up | Choose Pro, Choose Team | Contact us |
| Administrator on Free | none | Choose Pro, Choose Team | Contact us |
| Administrator with a subscription | none | Upgrade to Team for a higher plan, otherwise Change on the Billing page | Contact us |
| Limited user | none | the ask-an-administrator note | Contact us |
The card of the plan you are on says Current plan. Below the cards the page says "No monthly cap and no reset date. Limits refill continuously; over one, requests slow down, then get a short Retry-After." and "Prices are in US dollars and exclude sales tax, which is added at checkout where it applies." When the deployment cannot take payment, the buy buttons are replaced by a note saying so.
The billing page#
/billing names the plan and, for a subscription, the price and how often it is billed. A status line follows:
| Status line | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "Active; renews date." | Paid and current. |
| "Active; ends date." | Cancelled; it stays active until the end of the period. |
| "Past due since date — update your card by date." | A payment failed; see A failed payment. An Unpaid chip means the account is running at the Free plan's rates. |
| "Suspended since date — pay the balance to restore service." | The grace period ended without payment. |
| "Ended. This account is on Free." | The subscription was cancelled and has ended. |
| "Free, with no subscription." | The account has never subscribed. |
The buttons are Manage billing (once the account has been through checkout), Upgrade to Team (on Pro) and Upgrade (on Free or after a subscription ended). A Credits section lists any credits applied to the account, with the amount, the reason and the date.
The banners#
While a payment is past due, every page shows a banner. An administrator sees "Payment failed — update your card by date — running at Free-plan rates until then." with an Update card link; other users are told that an administrator can update the card. While the account is suspended, every page says "This account is suspended for non-payment. Your data is safe; namespaces refuse requests until the balance is paid.", with Pay now for administrators.
Actions#
Choose a plan when you do not have an account#
On the pricing page, press Choose Pro or Choose Team. The portal asks you to create an account first ("You're choosing Pro. Create your account first; you'll confirm the plan next.") or to sign in, then opens Confirm your plan.
Choose a plan from Free#
As an administrator, press Choose Pro or Choose Team on the pricing page; or, coming from sign-up, press Continue to payment → on Confirm your plan. That page states the price and how it is billed, and offers "Pay annually instead and save 20%" or "Pay monthly instead".
Payment happens on a checkout page hosted by Stripe, which asks for the card and a billing address and adds sales tax where it applies. When you return, the portal shows Thank you and "Activating — this takes a moment." until the payment is confirmed, then "You're on Pro." with a link to the billing page. The new plan's limits apply within seconds. If activation takes longer than a minute, the page says "Still activating. Refresh this page in a minute, or contact us if it does not change — you have not been charged twice."
Upgrade#
On Pro, press Upgrade to Team on the billing page or the pricing page. Upgrade to Team says "Your subscription moves to Team at price. The difference for the rest of this period is prorated and charged today." Press Upgrade now.
Manage billing#
Press Manage billing on the billing page. It opens Stripe's customer portal, where you change the card, see and download invoices, switch between monthly and annual billing, move to a lower plan, and cancel. Changes made there come back to the portal's billing page.
Cancel#
Cancel in Stripe's customer portal. Until the cancellation takes effect the billing page says "Active; ends date."; then the account moves to the Free plan and its limits, and the billing page says "Ended. This account is on Free." Nothing is deleted: namespaces, keys and users above Free's limits stay, but you cannot add more of them until the account is below the limit.
A failed payment#
When a payment fails, the subscription becomes past due. The account keeps working, at the Free plan's burst rates where those are lower than its own, and every administrator is emailed; its sustained daily paces, sizes and counts are unchanged (see Plans, rates and limits). The grace period is seven days from the first failed payment; the banner and the billing page give the date. Update the card through Update card or Manage billing before then.
If the grace period ends unpaid, the account is suspended. The portal stays open and your data is kept, but the API answers every request to the account's namespaces with 403 and the code TERSE-ACCT-001. Paying the balance restores service: the account returns to its plan's rates, and a credit for the whole days it was suspended is applied to the account and listed under Credits. Administrators are emailed when the subscription starts and ends, when a payment fails, when the account is suspended and when payment is restored.
Ask about Enterprise#
Contact us on the Enterprise card opens Talk to us about Enterprise. Fill in Your name, Work email, Company and What you need, and press Send. The page answers "Thank you. We have your note and will answer at the address you gave, usually within a working day."
